STUDENT WINNER ANNOUNCED FOR
D.D. WILLIAMSON’S BEVERAGE COLORING COMPETITION
Louisville, Kentucky, USA (May 4, 2011) — D.D. Williamson congratulates Pui Yeu (Rei) Phoon, a graduate student in Food Science at Purdue University, for winning its first, annual Beverage Coloring Competition for Students. The winning entry is a citrus-flavored beverage fortified with beta-carotene, a bioactive lipid antioxidant that contributes both Vitamin A and coloring. The system used to deliver the beta-carotene is the novelty of the beverage.
Ms. Phoon’s award is a trip to the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting, June 11-15 in New Orleans. D.D. Williamson will display her winning poster at IFT Food Expo. You can meet Ms. Phoon to discuss her novel application on Monday June 13th, 1:00 to 2:00 PM, at booth 4429.
Ms. Phoon wishes to acknowledge and thank her Purdue advisors, Professors San Martin and Narsimhan, for inspiring her to enter the student competition.
